I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. From a young age, animals gave me a sense of peace, and I was always fascinated by the way they communicated and interacted with the world around them.

That curiosity led me to my first job as a veterinary receptionist before studying a BSc in Zoology, followed by a Master’s degree in Wild Animal Biology. Along the way, I developed a deeper understanding of animal behaviour, welfare and the science behind it, while gaining experience in both veterinary and wildlife settings.

Behind Sirius Instinct

Although I have always been fascinated by animals, it was Luna who changed the way I understood dogs.

She taught me true trust and understanding, how much can be communicated without words, and the importance of looking beyond assumptions. Taking the time to really observe and understand the individual in front of you can change everything.

My experiences with Luna also led me to attend a dog school, where I later volunteered and supported both training sessions and one-to-one behavioural work. I saw first-hand some of the challenges that dogs and their owners can face, including reactivity, anxiety and over-excitability, and became even more interested in what sits behind the behaviour we see.

These experiences shaped the way I view behaviour today.

Whether I’m providing in-home care or helping owners better understand their dog’s behaviour, I approach every dog as an individual. Their experiences, emotions and needs all form part of the picture, and understanding that bigger picture is what allows us to support them properly.

I continue to build on what I’ve learned through ongoing study and professional development. There is always more to learn about dogs, and I think continuing to learn is an important part of doing this work well.

Sirius Instinct has grown from everything I’ve learned through education, experience and, perhaps most importantly, the dogs who have shaped my understanding along the way.

My aim is simple: to help people better understand their dogs, strengthen the relationship they share, and provide care that truly reflects who each dog is.
